Refraining
I have a thought, that I’ll share with you, which isn’t to be taken too seriously as I’m just another piece of flesh.
Refraining from action for fear of causing problems is like refraining from pissing in the sea, for fear of raising its level and causing it to overflow the land, or refraining from drinking it for fear of dropping its level, thus overcrowding the fish.

Interesting way of looking at it. Doesn’t it somewhat depend on the action or the possible problems?
I agree. I hate fear. It’s a sneaky bastard. Most people never realize that the problems they think they’ve identified can actually be traced back to some sort of fear…
@logicalemu - ”Refraining from action for fear…” When I looked at it again I thought “I should alter it to ‘Refraining from a good action for fear….’ and so make the meaning clearer,” but I decided to leave it as it is, and so state a general case, rather than a more specific one. But you’ve spotted the flaw, so I’m going to arrange for you to have a crapload of those xnaga points, and I don’t know what to do with them either.
Too true. I have learned to fight fear. With female hormones. These things are lethal!
Finals next week, then I can read your piece. Promise. Will have absolutely no other obligations. Other than taxi service. grrr……How much are you being raped for petrol? It’s $3.73 in lovely CNY. Home of the Mountain Goat Race 2000! w00t!!
